Have you seen the default list of OpenCart’s reasons for return? I was polishing up the online store that I was working on and thought that I ought to check every detail, the Product Returns page included. I literally laughed out loud in the office (by myself) when I saw this:

Dead scorpion, anyone?

Dead on arrival? To be fair, it is possible that someone would use OpenCart to sell animals, plants, or aliens. In my project however, it’s very unlikely that Dead on Arrival was the most valid/creative reason for returning soap, lotion or makeup :).

If you are selling living things this is absolutely plausible but for those otherwise, here is how to add or remove reasons for return in Product Returns page:

  1. In the Administration panel of your OpenCart store, go toΒ System > Localisation > Returns > Return Reasons
  2. You can add, edit or remove items for the list of Reason for Return list from here.

How convenient.

EDIT (2011-11-19): Today I learned that the term “Dead On Arrival” also applies to defective electronic items. Thanks for the info Zach!

Though I think it could be worded more specifically if that’s the case. No? Okay I’ll go away now πŸ™‚
