How to Turn Off Comments of Pages/Posts at Once in WordPress

That is an awfully specific title

This is actually a little tutorial on how to edit some properties of multiple Pages or Posts in one go, but I first used this feature of WordPress with the intent of turning off comments. Often times I forget to turn off comments in Pages. I used to go over each page and switch it off. It’s only recently that I discovered how to do this tedious task very easily, which I really don’t know why.

Okay, so how do you go about it?

Simple.

  1. Click Pages (or Posts if that’s what you’re working on) in the menu in your admin panel.
  2. Check all the items you want to edit, or check the box in the header to automatically mark them all.
  3. From the Bulk Actions drop down menu, select Edit then click Apply. A set of options will be revealed.
  4. Select Do not allow in the Comments drop down menu then click Update to confirm.

That’s all there is to it. As you can see with this method you can also edit the Author, Parent, Template, and Status by bulk.
